Biography:
Before joining the dynamic team of researchers at AUT in 2009, I was a Lecturer at The University of Auckland, where I obtained my PhD in Management Science and Information Systems in 2008. Before starting my doctoral studies, I was a Lecturer at Universidad ESAN, Peru, where I completed my MBA in 2000. I hold a BEng in mechanical-aeronautical engineering, obtained at Instituto Universitario Aeronáutico, Argentina. In between, I spent 15 years in the Peruvian Air Force. I am currently serving as the Australasian Vice-Chair for IFIP 9.4 – Social Implications of Computers in Developing Countries.

Research Summary:
My main research work is in the area of information and communication technology for development (ICT4D). I am actively involved with ICT4D research community as an author, presenter, teacher and reviewer. I am passionate about the interplay between computer-mediated information and people and how the former can improve the living conditions of the latter.
