Pathway into the Bachelor of Business

UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE

As a school leaver, how can I meet University Entrance
?

The AUT School of Business caters for the school leaver from Year 13 who does not meet University Entrance but wishes to study the Bachelor of Business (BBus) by offering a one semester pathway of study.

The pathway will enable students to develop the skills, capabilities and background knowledge to gain entry to and be successful on the BBus.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS*

1. How do I qualify for entry to the pathway?

This will be decided when you make your application and will depend on previous New Zealand school academic performance or equivalent study. Each application is considered on an individual basis and selection will be based on demonstrated academic performance and communication competency.

2. I am close to meeting the entry requirements (i.e. missing 3 or 4 credits for University Entrance) for the BBus and looking for a course that may give entry to the BBus.  How does this work?

Students who have completed Year 13 may be offered the one semester pathway to the BBus. This gives you the opportunity to apply for the BBus after passing the paper, Introduction to Business. The success rate for students from the one semester pathway going on to the BBus has been very high.

3. What papers will I study in the pathway?

Your semester comprises a single paper 474001 - Introduction to Business (60 points).  This paper has a marketing focus with some law, accounting and social science.

4. Will I receive any qualification for my studies?

There is no qualification from the one semester pathway, however you will develop the skills capabilities and background knowledge to be successful on the BBus.
