More than just an IT major
“I found studying at AUT helped me get more practical experience for the workplace, rather than just sitting back in a lecture theatre listening to how things should be done. They encourage people to get involved with the lectures and form groups outside to work through problems as is done in the work place. I believe that the Business Information Systems major will prove to have greater benefits for my business degree and career path than a normal IT major. The plan for my career being to go into Business Advisory or Consulting sector and I feel that this major will help me gain an advantage over others because I will have a greater understanding of how businesses utilise their information systems and how these systems can be improved to create a better cohesion between the company, its information and how it is accessed.”
