Business Interdisciplinary Studies (the first stage of the Bachelor of Business) allows you to study business as a whole. It focuses on the development of your professional business capabilities and how they can be applied in the New Zealand business environment.

In the first year of your study you will cover disciplines which includes accounting; marketing; finance; economics; management; law; and social science. This gives you a solid grounding for further study in your chosen major(s).

Business Interdisciplinary Studies (120 points) are made up of the following compulsory papers* and are based on business themes:
475110 The Environment of Business
475120 Business Information Management
475130 Globalisation and Business Enterprise
476140 Managing Business Relationships
A student would normally be expected to complete 475110, 475120, 475130 and 476140 before being permitted to enrol in papers from selected major(s).
* Finance students are required to complete an additional paper: Fundamentals of Finance (compulsory for Finance majors only)
