Saten Kumar
PhD student - Economics
An economic pathway which is unique and quality orientated
“I decided to do a doctorate in Economics because I enjoy the challenge of
having to think deeply about my area of study. My doctorate research builds on my
existing published works and AUT has offered me this pathway which is unique and quality oriented. With a background in macroeconomics and econometrics, I am using the new methodologies of time series and panel data to evaluate the
impact of financial deregulation and reforms on the monetary policy of developing
nations such as Africa, Asia, the Pacific and on developed OECD countries. I find my supervisors very knowledgeable and approachable. They provide me with the opportunity to collaborate and develop research papers and present the research findings in seminars and conferences.”
