“The Māori development papers and the wānanga process gave me the flexibility to complete study that I wouldn’t ordinarily have been able to do. Postgraduate study requires a lot of commitment. I’m a full time worker and AUT’s willingness to think outside the square for people was very appealing to me. I already work in a business environment, but I wanted to add to my knowledge for the benefit of my people and since there is already a lot of research done on Māori business, I wanted to focus on the Māori experience of work, particularly in large corporates.
Studying the Māori development pathway through the Business School at AUT has given me the best of both worlds.”
