Māori Development aims to combine a multi-disciplinary study of business within culturally diverse communities, with particular emphasis on those that are Māori. It also includes an emphasis on research, management, business and technology within a Māori context.
The Māori Development postgraduate qualifications in Business focus strongly on the relationship between theory and practice. Accordingly, critical evaluation of the relevance and application of a range of business theory and literature to contemporary Māori communities and their development are features of this new specialisation.
RESEARCH
Research in Māori Development is of an applied nature that develops the capabilities of students to critically analyse theoretical knowledge and tests its application to new situations within a Māori context. Students have the opportunity of undertaking research with Te Ipukarea: the National Māori Language Institute.
