The Master of Professional Business Studies is a 120 point, coursework-only masters programme equivalent to one year of full time study. Students build on a relevant three year undergraduate degree and professional experience, or four years of degree and postgraduate study.
This qualification aims to offer students the opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills in their chosen field or provides an avenue to pursue a specialised business profession. The structure of the programme enhances professional knowledge and technical, interpersonal, strategic and intellectual capabilities necessary for success at the forefront of a range of business professions.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- A four year undergraduate degree in a relevant field or specialisation with a B average or better in the level 7 papers; or
- A four year undergraduate degree with Honours in a relevant specialisation; or
- A three year undergraduate degree in a relevant business specialisation with a B average or better with one of the following;
– a relevant professional qualification (equivalent to one year of advanced study)
– at least three years of professional experience deemed relevant to this programme by the postgraduate committee
AND completion of any prerequisite papers specified. - A three year undergraduate degree with one of the following;
– a graduate diploma in a relevant business specialisation with a B average or better
– A Postgraduate Diploma in Business or equivalent - Applicants for whom English is a second or additional language must have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each band. For more details, please refer to English Language Requirements in AUT’s Academic Calendar
STRUCTURE
Every student must complete at least 60 points in one specialisation to graduate with the MPBS. If a student wishes to undertake an endorsed specialisation, e.g. MPBS (Marketing), they must complete at least 90 points in that specialisation. The remaining points may be taken from any specialisation, subject to satisfying prerequisites.
