βAt DDB we are always impressed with the calibre of the AUT students we have working for us on Co-op. Typically they are enthusiastic, hard-working and prepared to do any job thrown their way.β Scott Wallace, CEO, DDB Advertising | Learning in the workplace β co-operative education At AUT we want to provide students with a transition between their studies and the business world. Co-operative education and our strong industry links provide students with work opportunities in a variety of organisations. In the final year of the Bachelor of Business, all students spend one semester working with an organisation on a project that is related to their major. This provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real situations and challenges giving students a great start in the industry while still being able to get feedback from AUT lecturers. Students are mentored by a workplace supervisor and an AUT academic and are encouraged to start the process of finding their placement from the beginning of their degree. The Business School provides assistance, hosting networking opportunities with employers and information sessions. Work placements can be completed in New Zealand or overseas. AIESEC Co-op Overseas Business students looking to do their co-op work placement overseas can be assisted by AIESEC New Zealand who provide international work placement opportunities across the globe.
