For international clients, we can customise programmes ranging from a multi-disciplinary experience incorporating business modules, external speakers and industry specific site visits, through to a credit bearing academic programme on a specific business topic.
The Business School at AUT has a number of international agreements with overseas universities including approval from the Director General of Foreign Experts Affairs, Beijing, China for the international exchange of personnel to overseas organisations.
Examples of some international programmes we have designed:
In preparation for China joining the World Trade Organisation, the Nanjing Municipal Government contracted the Business School to design and deliver a management development programme for senior government officials and business people from Nanjing. The programme focused on understanding the global business environment by analysing global business trends and mastering modern western management practices. This programme was based in New Zealand and delivered in four iterations which ranged in duration from two month programmes to quarterly programmes.
The Asian Development Bank and the Thailand Government jointly funded the Business School to design and deliver a programme for senior Thai staff from the Ministry of Labour and Welfare. The programme covered the design, implementation and evaluation of government labour market programmes for unemployed and low skilled employees in the workforce. Key areas included analysing skill demand, evaluating the effectiveness of local programme delivery and effectively project managing these programmes. This programme was delivered to a number of cohorts and included various delivery timeframes from one month programmes to one year programmes.
The Business School delivered a specialist management development programme for Executive MBA students from the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce. Business people and senior executives attended seminars and workshops arranged by the Business School, including a number of visits to New Zealand-based Asian companies and public and private sector organisations, particularly those companies engaged in trade with Asia.
