This international touring exhibition offers an insight into how animated films are made from start to finish by combining displays of exclusive artistic material (drawings, paintings, photos, settings & puppets) with the screenings of the films.

'Animated Films From Germany' gives a many facetted artistic overview of German animation film, ranging from classic animation techniques to computer technology presenting the work of 15 prominent filmmakers.

The Secrets of Animation

An introduction into the basic principles of animation, as they are applied in all techniques of animation. The workshop combines short filmexamples with entertaining lecture and hands on drawing exercises. Each participant will be able to create their own little piece of animation.
Suited for beginners and advanced animators alike.

HAMBURG ANIMATION 2008
We are pleased to announce that the Hamburg Animation Award has selected New Zealand for its special country award in 2008. The award is a prestigious international film accolade designed to stimulate creativity amongst young, up-and-coming animators. The winner will receive 2000 Euros and will be invited to the award ceremony in Germany. Hamburg Animation Award 2008 Hamburg is the epicentre of German media including film, TV, advertising and music production. In addition to a large number of small and medium-sized studios, two major animation studios are based in the Hanseatic city. Auckland City Council signed a strategic alliance partnership with Hamburg in April 2007.
