Joyoti Wylie's performance is a sound piece called Answerphone.
She has worked with answerphone messages as a form of sound art for many years now. She believes that responding to a performance/intermedia/soundwork from the 70's is a great opportunity to further develop her work and enables her to send personal message to Jim Allen.
“I keep ringing a number and leaving a message in the form of poetry, singing and feedback only to be continually cut off when the answer phone recording length has expired.“
Joyoti Wylie performed Answerphone in response to Jim Allen's exhibition O-AR on Thursday 1st February 2007 from 5.30pm.
