Metro Magazine and Canon New Zealand gave young photographers the chance to showcase their talent in the annual Metro / Canon 2005 Young Photographers' Competition.
The competition, in its third year, was open to photographers 30 years of age or under and to photography students enrolled in a tertiary institution. There was an open and student section in each of the competition's three categories; portrait, documentary and photojournalism/reportage.
