Orientation for international students
Orientation is an essential part of your transition to tertiary study. AUT Orientation is a great way to familiarise yourself with the University and the services and facilities available to you, and develop the study skills to hit the ground running from Day 1.
Orientation is full of activities and workshops, designed especially for new students.
We expect all students to attend Orientation, whether you're new to the university or new to your programme.
Orientation occurs in Week 0 (the week before lectures start) and runs across an entire week, with start dates indicated below:
- International Students: 18 February - 26 February 2016*
- Domestic Students: 20 February - 26 February 2016*

- All new Māori students
- All new Pacific students
- All new Chinese-speaking students
- All new mature students (students aged 25 and over)
Students in these groups should attend AUT101 (listed above) and the relevant AUT102 Workshop.
