Orientation is an essential part of your transition to tertiary study in New Zealand. AUT Orientation is a great way to familiarise yourself with the University and the services and facilities available to you, and develop the study skills to hit the ground running from Day 1. At Orientation you will meet your Student Ambassador who will show you around campus. This is also a great time to meet other students - some of whom may become your friends for life.

As a new international student at AUT, you need to attend the following Orientation sessions (see below for more details on these):

AUT 102 Workshops

AUT celebrates diversity. We recognise that our students have very different backgrounds, experiences, beliefs, and needs, and that your introduction to university life needs to reflect this. AUT 102 Workshops are designed for:
  • All new Māori students
  • All new Pasifika students
  • All new Chinese speaking students
Students in these groups should attend AUT 101 and the International Orientation (listed above), and should also register below to attend the relevant AUT102 Workshop.

  • New students who are unable to attend AUT 101.
