AUT International House can provide courses tailored to the needs of groups. We offer closed intensive courses focused on specific group needs or the option of studying fully or partially with other General English students.
Range of backgrounds: Typical group backgrounds include: Special purpose (eg. doctors/nurses/pilots); Teachers; University students; Private companies; Government officials; Secondary schools; Sporting organisations.
Examples of group courses: General English study and activities (sport, cultural, industry visit); English for teachers; English for medical professionals; Business or Banking English; Teacher Training; English for Academic Purposes.
Closed groups are able to start at any time for 2 weeks or longer. A minimum of 10 students is required. Groups mixed with other AUT IH students need to start on published starting dates and study for 2 weeks or more.
The Distance Diploma in Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA) Orientation Course
The Distance DELTA is a unique distance-learning programme for teaching professionals with experience. Jointly developed by International House and the British Council, it is accredited by Cambridge ESOL.
The Distance DELTA Orientation Course
The 2-week face-to-face Orientation Course is offered at AUT International House Auckland in March/April each year. The Orientation Course offers candidates study in all areas required for success on the distance programme, including completion of the first formally assessed Portfolio Assignment. The Orientation Course also assists each candidate with becoming part of the Distance DELTA web-based learning community.
