If you have successfully completed the requirements for your degree or diploma you are entitled to graduate. This page gives you more information about how to apply.
You should receive an invitation to apply to graduate around the middle of the semester in which you complete your course.
You can graduate by selecting one of three options
- Attending the next available graduation ceremony
- Attending a later graduation ceremony- referred to as a Deferral
- Not attending any graduation ceremony - referred to as In absentia
Selecting this option will mean that you do not take part in the graduation ceremony.
If you choose to have your qualification awarded In Absentia the parchment and your official transcript will be sent to you by courier.

If you have not received an invitation to apply for graduation by mid-semester and you believe that you will have completed the requirements of your qualification at the end of the semester, you should contact your faculty or school office
urgently.
Please note that
all outstanding balances on your student account must be paid in full before graduation day.
Your qualification award documentation (parchment and transcript) will be presented to you as part of the graduation ceremony. If you choose not to attend any ceremony (in absentia) the qualification award documentation will be sent to you after graduation.
