Hardship funds

If you're having financial difficulty while studying at AUT we can help you through a number of hardship funds:

  • Food and transport vouchers
  • Rent arrears payments to landlords
  • Utilities and other living expenses

Hardship funds are available throughout the year to AUT students who:

  • Can prove financial hardship
  • Are enrolled in a programme of study
  • Have no outstanding debt to AUT

Applying for a hardship fund

  • Complete the “Hardship Fund” application form
  • See a Student Hub Advisor who will complete a budget with you and assess hardship based on the hardship fund criteria

Financial Assistance Fund

  • Up to NZ$1000 per semester for students facing financial difficulties
  • Available to AUT students enrolled in at least 0.8 EFTS
