Each scholarship is for tuition fees (excluding the students’ association fees) and a $25,000 stipend per annum. The scholarships are offered for 3 years, so the value of each scholarship is approximately $96,000.
Candidates who meet the admission criteria for a doctoral programme. Preference will be given to new applicants to the PhD programme.
Applicants must have a relevant masters degree or a bachelors (honours) degree with first or second class (first division) honours. The degree would normally include research methodologies papers and an independent research project, including the writing of a report on that research.

The above process is for application for the Vice Chancellor’s Doctoral scholarship only. This is separate to your doctoral application.
If you have not already done so we recommend that you start the application process for your doctorate very soon. As this process may take up to 3 or 4 months to complete, the final award of the scholarship may be conditional on you being accepted onto the AUT doctoral programme.
