Please note: in most instances applications for external scholarships and research grants need to be submitted to the external agency through the University Research Office (URO) on your behalf. URO staff can offer invaluable assistance on the application and approval processes. Please contact the URO directly for further advice on available funding and the application process.

Funded by the New Zealand Government and administered by Education New Zealand, the New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships are a significant educational opportunity. The scholarships provide financial support for students from designated countries undertaking doctoral degrees by research in New Zealand universities. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Applications close on 15 July each year.

The NZVCC offers a range of scholarships predominantly at the postgraduate level. Scholarships handbooks are available from the AUT Scholarships Office or you can obtain information from the NZVCC website. Please note that applications for NZVCC scholarships need to be submitted to the AUT Scholarships Office and not directly to the NZVCC.
