Financial aid for US citizens who study at AUT University
All USA citizens who apply to study at AUT University can apply for financial Aid, either through:
- The US Department of Education direct loan programme (which has replaced the Stafford federal loan programme)
- Or a private loan
Eligible programmes for US financial aid
Most bachelors and masters degrees, and PhDs are eligible for US financial aid.
Programmes not eligible for US financial aid
Students enrolled in the following programmes are not eligible to receive US financial aid from 1 July 2011:
- Bachelor of Health Science(Nursing)
- All graduate diplomas and certificates
- All postgraduate diplomas (Students enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Communication Studies and Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality Management will not be eligible to receive US financial aid from 1 July 2012)
- Postgraduate certificates
How to apply for financial aid through the direct loan programme
- Visit the US Department of Education website to apply for financial aid through the direct loan programme
- Complete the attached financial aid form and return it to AUT University's international student centre
