New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) $25 administration fee

AUT University acts as an agent for NZQA. The student fees department is responsible for forwarding hook-on fees, unit standard credits, exam fees and results to NZQA. The hook-on fee of $25 is a 1-off payment that enables the student to hook-on to the National Framework.

AUT reports monthly to NZQA about students who have paid the hook-on fee. On receipt of this payment NZQA provides a candidate number that is sent direct to the student. Once the hook-on fee has been paid the unit standard credits can be reported to NZQA. This report is sent monthly. NZQA will send out a record of learning to students that shows what credits the student has completed towards their final qualification. Not all modules or programmes have unit standards. Your programme administrator or faculty will be able to tell you if your programme of study has unit standard credits.

Exam fees for some national courses in business and engineering

AUT University reports on the NZ Diploma in Business and NZCE Electrotechnology and trades/industry examinations to the NZQA. There are mid-year and end of year examinations and fees must be paid in full so that the entries for exams can be forwarded to NZQA at certain times of the year.

If the entries are not paid and not sent then students incur penalties for late payment. AUT also sends exam results to NZQA which are recorded and sent out to students. These results are sent at varying times of the year.
