Textiles for fashion at AUT University: an overview

  • Also referred to as, or includes, knitwear design, costume design, design - textiles for fashion, fashion - textiles
Textiles for fashion at AUT focuses on fabric printing and knitwear. Students of textiles for fashion learn a human-centred approach to textile design and gain an understanding of the ethical, social, cultural and environmental values which underpin the design process. They will also be able to engage with relevant technologies in the development of textile design solutions. Our textile and design laboratory has computer-aided design systems, digital textile printing equipment and whole garment knitting machinery.
