Fashion at AUT University: an overview

  • Also referred to as, or includes, knitwear design, costume design, clothing design, fashion design
Fashion at AUT offers a dynamic learning environment, both by reflecting the needs of a rapidly changing industry and by encouraging students to explore more innovative and conceptual approaches to their work. The core studio and fashion studio papers give students the fundamentals of fashion design and an understanding of the technical aspects of garment production.

Students can specialise in:

  • Apparel design (women’s wear or men’s wear)
  • Costume design
  • Knitwear design
