Exercise science at AUT University: an overview

  • Also referred to as sport and exercise science
Exercise science is a broad area encompassing two main elements - health and wellbeing and sports performance. While sports science is a well-established discipline that focuses on sport performance enhancement, there is a growing interest and industry tied to health and wellbeing. Particularly so as the general public is becoming more aware of the benefits of exercise. AUT has very strong links with industry and courses have an applied and practical focus, giving students ample opportunity to gain experience and make useful contacts.
