NFD Notetaker/Communicator Fund
The National Foundation for the Deaf has limited funds available to assist Deaf and hearing impaired students enrolled in post-secondary study, with some of the costs of providing notetakers, interpreters, communicators or extra tuition.  The applicants must be Deaf or hearing impaired students who are taking courses at a tertiary institute, or other approved course of study/training, to further their education or skill, and who do not have access to such assistance from other sources. The Fund is usually used to assist students who are seeking re-training, or skills training for employment purposes.
Amount Awarded - Awards are limited to $9 per hour, with a ceiling of $1,000 to any one student.
Closing Date - 31st March annually

 


 NZ Federation for Deaf Children Inc. Advanced Learning Scholarship
A sponsorship for post secondary students who are deaf or hearing impaired.
Amount Awarded - $1 000.00
Closing Date - 1st March annually


Quest of Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship for Deaf or Hearing Impaired Graduates 2009
The Quest for Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship will be awarded to a New Zealand graduate whose hearing impairment affects his or her ability to communicate and who, as a result, has had to overcome great odds. Its principal purpose is the pursuit of excellence. 
Amount Awarded - 1 scholarship awarded annually valued at NZ$15,000.
