Welcome to the Postgraduate Programme in Māori Health. This Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences postgraduate programme is open to graduates from a variety of health professions including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, public health, podiatry, applied mental health, oral health and Māori development. The programme is flexible and responsive to the changing needs within the health care sector and wider New Zealand society. Its priority is to equip participants with knowledge and skills that will help improve the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of Māori health initiatives and thereby improve Māori health outcomes.

The Programme is structured to allow the completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science in Māori Health which can later be credited towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Māori Health, Master of Health Science or Master of Health Practice. The Postgraduate Certificate in Māori Health enables those with a health and/or Māori development background to advance their knowledge and skills in the area of Māori health. 

Students wishing to complete only one Māori health postgraduate paper may enrol in a Certificate of Proficiency provided that the required entry criteria are met.
