Kaupapa Maori Reseach
The bi-cultural commitment of the ITRU is reflected in its consultation, collaboration and partnership with Maori.Maria Rameka is a faculty member in the School of Nursing and a member of the ITRU. She also sits on the AUT Ethics Committee and the Kawa Whakaruruhau Komiti (a Maori advisory committee for the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery). Maria has contributed to numerous ITRU research acitivites challenging traditional Pakeha methodology and methods towards ensuring research is relevant and results in improved health for Maori.
