Welcome to the Interdisciplinary Trauma Research Centre (ITRC) located in the Faculty of Health & Environmental Sciences. ITRC staff & students undertake research that is aimed at gaining an understanding of the human experience of trauma. We interpret trauma as physical, psychological or cultural experiences that are extremely negative, uncontrollable, out of the ordinary. Trauma can be sudden or cumulative.
