
Professor Sergei Gulyaev - Director
Sergei is the Foundation Director of IRASR. He graduated from Moscow State University with an MSc and then completed a PhD (1982) and DSc (1991). He went on to work at the Ural State University (Russia) where he was elected Head of Department of Astronomy and Geodesy. In 2000, Sergei moved to New Zealand to take up the position of Deputy Director of the Earth and Oceanic Sciences Research Centre (EOS), which he occupied until 2004.
Sergei's main research interests are in the areas of astrophysics and radio astronomy. He has over 100 scientific publications, including the textbook Basics of Natural Science: History of the Earth, the third edition of which was published in 2000.

Jordan Alexander - PhD student
Jordan received a BSc in physics and history of science from the Evergreen State College, WA, USA and an MSc in physics from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, NM, USA. His PhD topic is the physics of radio recombination lines from cosmic plasmas.

Stuart Weston - Masters student
Stuart obtained his BSc (Hons) degree in physics from Manchester University, UK. He completed an MPhil at AUT in 2009 under the supervision of Sergei and Tim. His areas of research interest are Very Long Baseline Interferometry modelling and radio astronomy image processing.
