Running Mechanics Clinic

The AUT Running Mechanics Clinic can help you get the most from your running, whether you're out there to win or just enjoy yourself. By improving your alignment and efficiency you will be able to run longer and faster, while preventing running-related injuries. 

At the Running Mechanics Clinic we take a holistic approach to the prevention and rehabilitation of injury. We begin at the feet and work our way up to determine all the possible contributing factors that could be impacting on your running or the pain you are experiencing. Our primary goals are to prevent injury occurring, effectively rehabilitate existing injuries and ultimately enhancing your running performance.

A number of different services are offered by the clinic, and all incorporate scientific video analysis and assessment of your body's structure and function to help overcome your pain and injuries. Click here to find out more.

Research grant to present at ISBS


SMNZKelly Sheerin, Manager of the Running Mechanics Clinic has recently been awarded a research grant by Sports Medicine New Zealand to present at the International Society of Sports Biomechanics Conference in Michigan, USA.

The annual conference of the ISBS is widely regarded as the largest and most significant meeting of specialists in this field. The conference attracts hundreds of the leading reseachers and practitioners from around the world. The quality of research presented and materials produced are at the cutting edge of knowledge and technology.

Kelly is looking forward to bringing back all the latest research findings to implement within the Running Mechanics Clinic. He will be sharing these insights with other practitioners at the annual Sports Medicine New Zealand conference in Wellington later in the year.

Lisa Tamati - Ultra Runner

Lisa Tamati

New Zealand ultra-marathon runner Lisa Tamati recently visited the AUT Running Mechanics Clinic to help perfect her running technique before tackling the most grueling foot race in the world - the Badwater Ultramarathon through Death Valley in California. This race takes runners over three mountain ranges for the finish line 2533 metres above sea level on Mt Whitney.

The AUT Running Mechanics Clinic is ACC registered and therefore if you have an existing ACC number you will not be required to pay the full fee for your assessment. Please notify us when you make your appointment if you think this may apply to you.
