Research Summary:

The AUT-Horizon Scanning Imaging Unit was set up in March 2006 by Dr Wayne Hing and Dr Bruce Allen, creating a landmark partnership at that time between an academic unit and a commercial entity. Dr Wayne Hing is the director of the ultrasound research at AUT University.  Radiologist Dr Bruce Allen runs Horizon Scanning, which is a specialised ultrasound practice. Horizon is strongly patient-centred and is committed to partaking in research and teaching of ultrasound imaging.
The clinic is located in the Health Rehabilitation Research Institute, within the School of Rehabilitation and Occupation Studies.  The Unit is an exciting development for AUT University and the community, and is a reference site for clinical work, research and teaching.
The overall focus and direction of the Imaging Unit is to provide Clinical, Teaching and Research Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging on site at AUT University.  The Unit provides all aspects of ultrasound imaging – including obstetrics, vascular, general and musculoskeletal imaging.
