Biography:

Ranjana’s experience in academia spans over 3 decades and includes research and tax consulting besides teaching on various aspects of taxation law and policy and accounting papers.

 

Ranjana joined AUT in February 1999 as a Lecturer in the Accounting Group. Prior to this, for more than 15 years she was a Senior Lecturer in Commerce at Delhi University in India where she taught Taxation, Accounting and Management subjects.  She writes chapters in New Zealand Taxation, Principles, Cases and Questions published by Brookers.  Since 2006 Ranjana has authored over ten refereed journal articles, with a particular emphasis on taxation law and policy. 

 

Ranjana has presented papers at many national and international conferences. She is a regular reviewer for Managing your Business, Taxation and Legal Compliance published by Financial and Business Advisor.

Awards:

Ranjana has won a number of awards including:

  • CCH award for Top Graduate M Bus majoring in Taxation
  • AUT Business School award for First publication
  • Best empirical paper award at the Australasian Tax Teachers’ Association Conference.
