Biography:

Dr Adam Taylor is a Senior Research Lecturer in the Faculty of Design and Creative Technology’s School of Engineering. Prior to joining AUT University, Adam lectured in Management at The University of Auckland, and consulted in engineering and technology solutions for business for both Newbridge/Alcatel and TelecomNZ (where he obtained his trade qualifications).  Adam has also run the design office of a power utility company.

Adam’s research interests include Power Systems, Power Electronics, Power Electronic Device Modeling, Linear Induction Motors, Alternative and/or Distributed Generation,  Cryogenic Applications of Power Devices, People in/and Technology, and matters he finds quirky and interesting.  To understand these fields of inquiry, Adam has employed both positivist lines of inquiry as well as post-positivist methodologies including Grounded Theory, Narrative Analysis, and Discourse Analysis.
