Vision
A well coordinated, co-operative world class engineering education sector
providing the graduates and research outcomes necessary for sustainable generation
of wealth to meet the needs of New Zealanders.
This will entail
- Co-operative delivery of research and teaching across the whole engineering
education sector
- An increased understanding by government and the public of professional
engineering, of its diversity and of its value to the nation
- A commitment at all levels to the quality of student learning
- An effective student recruitment strategy both nationally and internationally
- A focus on the future needs of New Zealand and appropriate long term planning
- A commitment to be amongst the leading countries of the OECD in terms
of the number of graduates per head of population and their distribution
between the major disciplines
- Vibrant interaction with industry to ensure its current and future needs
are met and that the innovations developed within the education sector are
commercialised
