Matariki, Easter and St Patrick’s Day were just a few of the well thought-out themes at the annual showcase for first year pâtisserie students.
The students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism, baking to theme, set up a delectable array of treats, all hidden away from the eyes of waiting parents and friends.
The showcase was held in AUT’s Piko restaurant and when the doors opened the space was filled with people eager to view, try and buy the treats on offer.
The photos below are a selection of themed items from the day.

The showcase marks the end of another busy year for the School of Hospitality and Tourism. Links with the industry have been strong this year with students being involved with:
• AUT hosting the final competition event for the annual Fonterra Proud to be a Chef competition
• The Nestlé Toque d’Or event for up-and-coming chefs
