A group of AUT students has made a video revealing the story of why the Farmers Santa on Whitcoulls Corner is covered in bandages.
Last year Whitcoulls donated the iconic Santa to Auckland business group Heart of the City, which decided to give him a makeover. So this year Santa’s face and beckoning finger are under wraps until a big reveal at 1.30pm on November 22.
As part of the campaign Heart of the City approached AUT’s Bachelor of Creative Technology students to make a viral video showing the ‘real story’ behind Santa’s condition. Passers by with blue tooth enabled cellphones will receive a text from Santa directing them to
a link for the video.
Five students worked with Heart of the City’s design production company Lemonade on the concept, script and filming of the video.
