Types of Information

Search the databases to find articles on your topic from magazines, newspapers and journals
Journals contain academic / scholarly / peer reviewed articles
Magazines and newspapers contain popular and trade articles
The Library databases contain articles from these and more

Why use a Library database?

  1. Sometimes the information you need is not in a book. Articles contain information that is more
specific , focussed on one particular aspect of your topic
    recently published
research based, with research methodology and findings
news and current affairs based, covering the latest New Zealand and world events
  2. Using the databases you can search across many years and many thousands of journals, magazines and newspapers simultaneously

  3. You can access the databases from anywhere in the world, at any time, using your AUT login and password
Where do I find the databases?

AUT University homepage > Library > Library Resources > Databases

Which database should I use?

The AUT Library subscribes to more than 200 databases. Some focus on a particular subject area, while others are huge and cover many.

check the Library Subject Guides for advice, or
