Samoan language week

Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa/Samoan language week is a time to celebrate and reflect upon the rich Samoan culture here in New Zealand. This year Samoan Language Week runs from Sunday 28 May – Saturday 3 June

The theme for 2017 is "Ma’au i lou ofaga. Maua’a lou fa’asinomaga / Keep your identity alive to thrive.”

This year, we have shaped our conversation around Samoan language week by the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure.

We are focusing on Innovation, and exploring how innovation and creative thinking helps to further young Samoans' professional careers or tertiary studies.

We hope to create discussions and raise awareness of this goal and share what is happening in our communities to achieve this goal.
