AUT University is charged with co-ordinating the Universitys assets and resources, including the skills and time of staff and students, for the benefit of our communities.
Examples include:
As a leader in the area, AUT co-founded the Community Impact Group, a multi-sector forum committed to developing good corporate citizenship.

- Working with Lifewise to train AUT security and Auckland City Council staff in better managing homeless people on campus and in the city
- Offering study scholarships to parts of our community that have been traditionally underrepresented in university study
- Brokering a relationship between design students and the Cancer Society to produce clothing that is sun smart and savvy
- AUT University's Centre for Refugee Education within the Mangere Refugee Reception complex in South Auckland.
