Living in New Zealand
Getting used to new ways of living and doing things in New Zealand can be challenging for many of our students from migrant and refugee-backgrounds. Some settle in quickly while others take longer to adapt. It is perfectly normal to experience culture shock and go through a range of emotions when you are adjusting to a new country, while not having the usual access to your networks of friends and family.
Don't worry; you don’t need to go through this alone - there are many community groups and government organisations
you can reach out to for assistance and settlement support.
