Induction for postgraduate athletes
Working towards a competitive sports career and balancing an academic education can be challenging. AUT offers student athletes a range of services to help you reach your goals.
The athlete induction day provides a forum to develop relationships with likeminded athletes and highlight the athlete support services available at AUT. The induction day is split into two parts and includes the following topics:
- Understanding team work
- Goal setting
- Effective communication
- Critical thinking
- Balancing career and education
- Enrolment
- Student loans and allowances
- Meeting other athletes
- Student services
- Families on campus
- Exam extensions and assignments
MVP athlete scholarship students are required to complete the induction day while other athletes who may benefit from being involved are asked to register for this programme:
