Computer labs
AUT University has a number of Open Access Labs with computing, scanning, CD burning and printing facilities for AUT students. The Labs are located on all three campuses with computers available to be booked in blocks of 30 minute slots, with a maximum of 2 hour booking at any one time. You must book time on these machines through our Booking system.
We also have a number of first-come first-serve computers on the 3rd floor of the Library. This includes wireless laptops that can be used throughout the City, North Shore and Manukau library buildings, during library hours. These laptops are issued at the Service Desk and must not leave the library premises. Usage of computers within the library is subject to library opening hours.
Please note that these times will change during semester breaks and public holidays.

Guidelines For Lab Usage
When you use the AUT computers, you must act in a courteous manner and respect the rules set out in the AUT Computer Use Policy . These rules include:
- No playing games.
- No smoking, eating or drinking.
- No talking on cell phones.
- No unnecessary noise.
If you do not follow these rules and act in an orderly manner, the IT lab staff will ask you to leave immediately.
Computer Types
Computers in the lab are divided up into three types. General, Science-Engineering (Solidworks) and Hospitality. These Computers host specialized applications specifically as per requirement by faculties. For example, Science and Engineering computers will have applications which hospitality computers may not have. However all the computers have the same general image which consists of the basic applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
