Savita Bhaskaran
Reception and Administration Officer
Savita is the first point of call for all enquiries. She will respond to your enquiries, direct you to the appropriate person and will make appointments for you with the Disability Resource staff.

Kyle Macfadyen
Disability Student Advisor - City Campus

Kyle is an initial contact for all existing and new students with impairments. He will advise students following their assessment on the type of supports that may be available. Kyle provides information, guidance and ongoing support to Deaf and hearing impaired students and NZ sign language interpreters. He advises students, academic and allied staff on disability issues.

Leanne Houston
Disability Student Advisor - North Shore Campus
Leanne is an initial contact for all existing and new students with impairments. She will advise students following their assessment on the type of supports that may be available. John Lambert
Adaptive Technology and Alternative Format Coordinator

John supports vision impaired students to access study materials in alternative formats. John also provides information and guidance on using assistive technologies to maintain students as independent learners. John can provide training to individual students on software or technologies that are specific to their needs. John is responsible for the Adaptive Technology labs that are base in the city and North Shore campus libraries.

Anna Nelson
Community/Disability Scholarship Advisor

Anna is the contact for all existing and new students who are in receipt of the Community Partnership Scholarship - Disability. Anna will provide ongoing support to the students throughout their scholarship and works closely with our key designated scholarship partners.

Brenda Kiernan

Notetaker/Examination Coordinator
Brenda recruits and manages the team who provide academic supports to students. She works closely with the Resource Coordinators to ensure students get the appropriate in-class support, e.g. note-takers. Brenda also has responsibility for liaising with students and faculties to ensure that alternative examination arrangements for students with impairment are in place.

Sue Beechey
Learning Disability Lecturer

Sue is based in the Learning Support Centre (Te Tari Āwhina). She advises, assesses and supports students with specific learning disabilities, e.g. dyslexia, students with head injuries. She works closely with the Disability Resource Service ensure students get the help they need.

Manager

John manages the day to day running of the Disability Resource Service. He supports the Resource Coordinators to provide ongoing support to students with impairments.
