


Lian-Hong Brebner
Lian-Hong Brebner has had extensive experience in the pastoral care of tertiary students within both New Zealand and Singapore education settings. She enjoys working with students from diverse backgrounds and is passionate about helping them develop their fullest potential as individuals. Lian-Hong previously coordinated the Student Mentor Programme and Orientation at AUT University.

Penny is passionate about working with students and assisting them to achieve their goals. She has worked in several tertiary institutions with students from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. Penny enjoys working holistically to help students get the most out of their experience at AUT University, from study to social and cultural interests. Penny provides support to all students, however she has a specific focus on supporting both postgraduate students and recipients of the Vice-Chancellor and Significant Student Scholarships.

Mitchell initially trained as a primary school teacher. His working life then led him into several roles within the Corrections Department prior to his move to the disability sector. His previous role assisting disabled students on the North Shore Campus has given him an in-depth knowledge of the programmes and staff at that campus. Mitchell's varied work history and knowledge of AUT makes him well-placed to provide support to all students.

George enjoys his Student Advisor role, especially helping students to realise their innate capacities to excel. George is focused on assisting them to remove barriers that may be impacting on their study and general wellbeing. He has previous experience working with university students from multicultural contexts in Thailand and the USA.

AUT offers support to athletes who are working towards a competitive sporting career while balancing an academic education. Bruce has a passion for helping student athletes reach their goals. He advises on setting study goals, time management and sport and life balance. He also helps athletes arrange time off from studies due to sporting commitments, facilitates other AUT student services and helps when a student needs assistance from external agencies.
