Examination arrangements

The Disability Student Support service assists both students and faculties when we need to provide agreed alternative examination arrangements for students.

The student needs to inform us, at least 2 weeks before, of the details of each of their examinations. The Examination Coordinator will then liaise with the faculty and the student and determine who is responsible for the provision of each alternative arrangement. The usual scenario of responsibilities is as follows:

Faculties:

  • Separate rooms
  • Examinations in large print or alternative formats
  • Word processors
  • Additional time

Disability Student Support:

  • Reader/writers
  • Examination supervisors

Students:

  • Specialised computer software
  • Electronic dictionaries (if approved)
