Submitting your Theses, Dissertations and Exegeses

AUT requires masters and doctoral students to submit a final bound copy of their thesis, dissertation or exegesis to be eligible for graduation.

Masters and doctoral degrees

When the faculty postgraduate committee or University Postgraduate Board has approved that the degree be awarded, the candidate is required to deposit a digital copy online to the University Library.

This can be submitted on AUT’s institutional repository, ScholarlyCommons@AUT.

You can find out more about the requirements at the AUT University Library website under depositing your work.

Candidates are also required to submit one (1) corrected, bound copy of the thesis/dissertation/exegesis to the University Postgraduate Centre.

The PGR15 'Deposit of Thesis/Exegesis in AUT Library' form will need to be completed and bound into the front of the thesis/dissertation/exegesis.

For information on binding, visit Printsprint.

Bachelor's Degrees with Honours

For bachelor's degrees with honours, a digital copy is required since these dissertations are not routinely collected by the Library. Exceptional dissertations may be recommended for the Library by the appropriate faculty.

The PGR17 'Deposit of Bachelor's dissertation/exegesis in the AUT University Library' form will need need to be completed and approved by the faculty.

To access the forms mentioned above, see postgraduate forms.

Further information on depositing theses, dissertations and exegeses can be found in the AUT University Postgraduate Handbook.
