David Parker (PhD, BSc Hons)
Postgraduate Learning Development Senior Lecturer

David has a doctorate from the University of Leeds in the UK, where he studied orientational ordering and critical phenomena in micellar liquid crystals. David continued this research, using nuclear magnetic resonance techniques, in a two-year fellowship at Massey University in Palmerston North. For 12 years David worked in the publishing industry as a book editor working on reference books and, more recently, on business and legal textbooks. These two sides of David’s experience - research work and writing - are brought together in his role supporting postgraduate students in all aspects of learning, research and thesis/dissertation/report writing.
