Students can get support to resolve concerns and issues of harassment and bullying from a confidential service.
What is harassment?
Harassment is unwanted and unwelcome behaviour which makes it difficult to work and study peacefully and safely. One such unacceptable behaviour is bullying - for example when a difference in power is abused.
Harassment is behaviour that can interfere either with an individual's or group's performance on the job or in the classroom. It can create an intimidating, hostile work or study environment. Harassment is a pattern of behaviour which is:
- Unwanted by the recipient
- Repeated or of a significant nature
- Harmful to the recipient
Harassment can be:
People may be harassed because of their race, colour, ethnic or national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, disability, family or marital status.
