Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences

Complete the Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences at Manukau. The first year will give you an introduction to computer and information sciences before focusing on your chosen major in years two and three.

The Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences (BCIS) provides a sound technical understanding of computer hardware and software, an ability to develop high quality computing solutions and an appreciation of the processes and practices necessary to meet the demands of a profession in computer and information sciences.

Master of Service-Oriented Computing

The Master of Service-Oriented Computing (MSOC) is suitable for graduates who desire a one-year taught masters programme which incorporates some of the latest developments and trends in both practice and research. 

The MSOC builds on professional experience in the information technology (IT) sector and prepares graduates for the growing cloud computing, service science and service-oriented computing sectors.

In service-oriented computing, application components are assembled into a network of services, such as the internet based web services. The service-oriented approach allows the creation of flexible and dynamic business processes across organisations and computing platforms.

Postgraduate Diploma in Arts - papers in Pacific studies

To be offered from Semester 2, 2012.

Bachelor of Business

You will be able to compete your first year of the Bachelor of Business at Manukau. The first-year compulsory papers are:

  • Business Information Management
  • Globalisation and Business Enterprise
  • Managing Business Relationships
  • The Environment of Business

You will be able to do your third-year work placement at a Manukau-based organisation.

Laptops for studying business

Students enrolled on the Bachelor of Business at Manukau Campus are expected to have their own personal laptop or netbook while studying. Technology is an essential part of the way in which students will learn both in and out of class time. The personal laptops will be an important part of students' learning toolkits as they develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be a business professional in the 21st century.


Bachelor of Health Science

This flexible health degree opens the door to a wide range of non-clinical roles in the health and disability sector that are not always in direct contact with patients. These roles
include leadership and management, information and planning, education, advocacy and promotion.

You will be able to complete your first year at our Manukau campus, with options to study Years Two and Three at either our Manukau campus or North Shore campus.

Bachelor of Health Science in Health Promotion

Many health and social issues, such as obesity, diabetes,heart disease, depression, and alcohol and drug harm are largely preventable. Health promotion practitioners work with individuals and communities to improve health and prevent illness and disease.

You will be able to complete your first year at Manukau campus, with options to study Years Two and Three at either the Manukau or North Shore campus.

Bachelor of Health Science (Midwifery)

This comprehensive degree (approved by the Midwifery Council of New Zealand) prepares students for a rewarding career in an independent practice as a midwife.

You will be able to study for the midwifery degree, from start to finish, at the Manukau campus.

Bachelor of Sport and Recreation

You can complete the full degree at the Manukau campus. If you want to add a major then you would need to undertake some of the major specific papers at the North Shore campus.
